Motorcyclist Dies from Severe Injuries
There is nothing more important than safety when you are riding a motorcycle. It can make the difference between life and death, as it did for one young man in Nevada.
The 21-year-old male victim was riding his motorcycle in Las Vegas when he became involved in a motorcycle accident. News reports indicate that police were able to recreate the scene thanks to eyewitness testimony. After the recreation, officers learned that a large SUV had stopped in the left-hand turning lane when the motorcycle entered the intersection. For some reason, the biker crashed into the passenger side of the SUV and flew off his bike.
Although he was still alive while EMTs transported him to a local hospital for treatment, the motorcyclist died shortly after due to severe internal injuries. His death is the 54th traffic-caused fatality this year in Las Vegas.
Following the collision, a coroner on the case determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the cervical spine caused by the impact.
