Man Impaled Through Mouth during Car Accident, Survives
A 28-year-old Iraq War veteran was horribly injured last November when his car veered off the side of the road and crashed into a fence, resulting in an auto accident that nearly took the man's life.
When his vehicle crashed into the fence a thick metal pole smashed through the front windshield of his car, going through his mouth and impaling him through his neck, just barely missing his spine and major arteries. He suffered catastrophic injuries, narrowly avoiding death and permanent paralysis from extreme bodily damage.
Over the last several months the man has been recovering from his injuries which surgeons described as the kind that usually result in people being sent "to the morgue, not the emergency room."
He was unable to remember the events of the night including why he had been driving, or even leaving his home possibly as a side effect of the extremity of his injuries.
Whenever a loved one is seriously injured in an accident of this severity one of the initial thoughts you may have after caring for that person is the high cost of the medical care that will inevitably build up over time, especially with more severe injuries. If it is determined by investigations made by either police officials or even your attorney that negligence, a defective product or malfunctioning auto part caused the accident, it is possible that you could receive monetary compensation for your injuries.
At the De Castroverde Law Group we understand how terrifying, emotionally damaging and financially compromising serious accidents can be. We can evaluate your case, and may be able to help you fight for compensation depending upon the circumstances of your case.
