Drunk Driver Hits and Kills Pedestrian
A drunk driver made headlines last week, this time in Naples, Florida, for the death of a pedestrian.
According to official reports, the driver, a 24-year-old male, was heading east on a local street when he hit several pedestrians. When officers arrived at the scene of the pedestrian accident, they noticed that the driver appeared to be under the influence. Their suspicions were confirmed when he failed the field sobriety tests that they administered. The driver was then placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
The victim, a 28-year-old male, was crossing the street with some other walkers when he was struck. At this time, his identity has not been released to the public as his next of kin has yet to be notified. Another victim, a 41-year-old male from Las Vegas, was seriously injured and is still being treated at a nearby medical facility.
Officers will continue their investigation to determine whether further charges will be pressed against the suspect in the near future.
