Fatal Accident Believed to Be Fault of Inebriated Pedestrian

A pedestrian was killed in an accident this morning after being hit by a car on Las Vegas Boulevard. His identity has not yet been released, but will be once family has been notified of his death. It is believed that he is a local to the city.

The pedestrian accident happened near Stewart Avenue at around 9:45 a.m. The pedestrian was rushed to University Medical Center, where he was then declared dead on arrival. The driver of the vehicle, a 1997 Chevrolet pickup, was not injured in the accident, and police do not believe that he was responsible for the accident because the pedestrian may have been intoxicated.

So far this year there have been five traffic accident fatalities in the Las Vegas Metro area.
