22,000 Jogging Strollers Recalled
Only a year ago, more than 2.5 million strollers from two different companies were recalled after almost 20 children lost their fingertips when they got caught in a hinge. Now, another stroller company, phil&teds USA, is recalling their strollers after an adult lost a fingertip while trying to close it. There were two other reports of adults being injured in the same manner, although they were only cut and did not lost their fingertips.
The strollers, models classic v1 and sport v2, were made in China and were sold from May 2008 to July 2010. The strollers cost between $350-$450. People who own these strollers can call the company for a free repair kit, or visit the company's website for more information about the recalls.
Some critics are heralding this recall for happening quickly, before more injuries occurred. There has been a disturbing trend of companies allowing defective products and
dangerous drugs to stay on the market for too long and allow too many injuries.
