Tanker Truck Accident Results in Massive Flames and Cleanup
When a gas tanker truck becomes involved in an accident, you can expect some serious road delays. Such was the case in the state of Nevada last week when a truck accident caused an eleven hour shutdown of a well-known Interstate.
State troopers were called to the scene of the collision to witness massive flames engulfing the truck. Officers were accompanied by firemen and other rescue workers who spent most of the day putting out the fire and cleaning up the wreckage. Initial reports show that the truck was heading south when it overturned near an off-ramp.
At the time of the crash, the truck was carrying a full load which contained 9,100 gallons worth of gas. With so much gas to clean off the highway, troopers worked diligently to divert traffic off the roads onto alternative paths and to keep other motorists safe.
