CSN Freshman Killed in Car Accident
18 year old Hillary Lavoie, a freshman at the College of Southern Nevada, was killed in an auto accident on Sunday.
She was driving back with friends from a trip to Reno when the accident occurred. She was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the car when it rolled over. The other two teens in the car were not critically injured.
Lavoie had just graduated from Shadow Ridge High School. She was a varsity cheerleader, homecoming queen and was voted most spirited.
The cause of the crash has not been released. Her father urges teenagers to follow all rules of the road and to make sure to wear their seat belts.
