Authorities have identified the body of the man who drowned at Lake Mohave earlier this week. 20 year old George Roacho drowned in Six Mile Cove, part of Lake Mohave near Searchlight and Cottonwood Cove.
Witnesses say that they did notice he was missing for five minutes. Though they found him relatively quickly and began CPR, he was declared dead when the Clark County Fire Department, park rangers, and Mercy Air arrived. More than an hour passed between his body being pulled from the water and his official declaration of death.
Officials have not released the cause of the drowning, although it is speculated that he was not wearing a life jacket.
Five people drowned in Lake Mohave in August, and eight total have drowned this year.
