Collision with Fire Truck Kills 2

A head on collision between an SUV and a fire truck has ended with 2 dead and 4 more in critical condition at the hospital. The fire truck was carrying an inmate crew of fire fighters.

The truck was headed south on 138 when it was struck by the northbound Subaru Forester. The force of the crash threw 25 year old Fernando Sanchez from the vehicle, fatally injuring him. Three fire fighters were trapped underneath the truck; luckily, a tow truck was stuck in the resultant traffic and was able to life the truck to save their lives. Overall, seven fire fighters were hospitalized. Four were still in critical condition on Wednesday.

The driver of the SUV was 83 year old Milton Edward Bacon, a resident of Gardnerville, Nevada. He was also killed in the auto accident. It is unknown what caused him to veer into traffic.
