Nevada Supreme Court Upholds $32 Million Judgement Against Goodyear

Goodyear Tire and Rubber company lost its appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court that a $32.2 million judgement is excessive.
The damages were awarded to the victims and deceased victims' families of a fatal auto accident in which a Goodyear tire blew out and caused the vehicle to overturn. Three people were killed and seven others were injured.
During the initial court proceedings, Goodyear refused to cooperate and the judge ruled that because they stalled, obstructed, and objected during the pre-trial, they would not be able to argue whether or not they should be held liable, but instead only the amount for which they could be held liable.
Both Goodyear and the victims appealed the $32.2 million - Goodyear because it was an excessive amount, and the victims because they were not awarded punitive damages.
The Nevada Supreme Court, however, has now upheld the judge's ruling.
