Fumes at Red Rock Hotel

Monday morning around 11 a.m. the Clark County Fire and Hazmat team responded to a call from Red Rock Hotel and Casino. The hotel and casino, which is also a spa and has a pool, accidentally mixed up chlorine and acid and pumped 25 gallons of chlorine into an acid holding tank near the pool.
The combination of chlorine and acid created noxious fumes that caused repiratory irritation to those nearby. Three of the resort's residents were taken to the hospital, although the respiratory irritation was not severe enough to require an ambulance. There has been no update on their conditions.
The Red Rock Hotel and Casino staff have reported that they are cleaning out the holding tank and taking steps to ensure that this sort of accident does not happen again.
