Senior in Critical Condition after Being Hit by Car
Angel Mora-Lopez, a 60 year old man from Jean, NV, is in critical condition after being hit by a car. Reports indicate that he was running across Flamingo Road, near Paradise Road, when he was struck by the vehicle. He was immediately taken to Sunrise Hospital.
The driver of the car that hit him is 42 year old Brock K. Wilson. It does not appear as if Wilson was at fault for the accident. Mora-Lopez was crossing the street at a part where there is no crosswalk. This area of town is known for having a large number of pedestrians crossing the road at dusk and at night, and pedestrian accidents are not a surprise to local residents. The long blocks do not encourage use of the designated crosswalks.
Metro's Accident Investigation team is looking into the incident to ensure that no criminal activity occurred.
