More Than 1 Millions Cars Recalled in One Week
General Motors is the latest automaker to announce that they are recalling some of their vehicles due to product defects which cause them to be unsafe to drive. Overall, almost 1.2 million vehicles have been recalled by various car companies.
G.M. is recalling its 2011 GMC Terrain, 2011 Cadillac SRX and 2011 Chevrolet Equinox because of a seat-belt anchor which may not be able to safely sustain the force of an accident. Almost 100,000 vehicles were recalled.
Honda, for its part, is recalling Passport SUVs made between 1998 and 2001, but only for those who live or frequently drive in snowy states in which salt is used to melt the snow and clear the roads. The salt may cause corrosion on a lower part, which could then cause it to break.
VW recalled over 375,000 cars because of possible fuel leaks, and Chrysler recalled almost as many because of an airbag defect.
