Hit amd Run Accident Sends Man to Hospital

A hit and run accident has sent a man to the hospital. Marcus Rutledge is now in serious condition at Sunrise Hospital after being hit by a car on Sunday night. The driver of the car was not the owner; the Honda Civic had been reported as stolen only hours before the accident.

When the accident occurred, the driver and another passenger in the car jumped out and ran away, leaving the stolen car and the victim behind. Police are urging anyone with information on the driver to come forward.

Hit and run accidents are harshly prosecuted in Las Vegas because of the prevalence of pedestrians and drunk drivers. A hit and run conviction could land the suspect in jail for years; it is a felony crime.
