Driver in Deadly Crash Suspected of DUI

Early Sunday morning, a driver on Tropicana Avenue rear-ended the car in front of it, fatally injuring a passenger in the car and critically wounding the driver. The woman who died was 21 and from Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Her name has not yet been released by the Clark County Coroner's Officer. 

The car that was hit was a 2005 Mercury Sable; the car that hit the Sable was a 2009 Mercedes-Benz. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, 32 year old Edris Ghani has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Metro police booked him in Clark County Detention Center. Neither he nor his 26 year old passenger sustained injuries. The driver of the other vehicle who was injured was 55 year old Cynthia Konarksi, who is from Las Vegas. Ghani is from San Diego.

Both the driver of the Sable and the family of the deceased woman may file a personal injury or wrongful death suit against Ghani to recover damages from the accident.
