Family Vacation Ends in Tragic Death of 4 Year Old Child

A young boy from Utah drowned this weekend at the pool of a rental home where his family was staying. The 4 year old, Porter Liddell, was playing in the pool with as many as 15 other children when one of the adults who was supervising noticed he was unconscious in the pool.

Family members immediately called 911 and attempted CPR. Medics also continued to try to revive him on the way to the hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Drowning is one of the most common forms of death for young children. Police are conducting the standard investigation, although they do not believe any charges will be filed.
